Inquire about this item
Longline sideboard in teak and teak veneer from the renowned Mid Century furniture makers A. H. McIntosh & Co. of Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Leading exponents of British modernism, McIntosh were creators of fine Scandinavian style furniture during the 1960s and are known for pairing sleek organic forms with elements of fine detail and superior construction.
This sideboard designed by Tom Robertson exhibits asymmetic, sculpted handles set against a repeated motif of bookmatched veneer across the double cupboards, drop down cabinet, and drawers. The cabinet interior features a slide out serving board and the top drawer is lined with black baize and includes removable cutlery dividers. The base and legs are constructed in solid teak.
The sideboard is in excellent condition throughout, with a rich patina and very little evidence of age related wear. A fine, strikingly grained example of McIntosh's Scandinavian influenced furniture.
