Stunning and rare 6 seat dining suite designed by H.W. Klein for Bramin Møbler including two carvers.
Born in Norway, the Scandinavian designer Henry Walter Klein was a "polymath" who possessed several degrees in language and mathematics. He also trained as a sailor at the Royal Ship in Norway in his youth and joined the Norwegian Royal Marine working as a cabinetmaker. He then moved to Denmark and studied under fellow Danish designer Finn Juhl who was the head of teaching at Frederikberg Tekniske Skole.
Klein is recognised as one of the most significan Scandianavian Modern designers of all time. His pieces for Bramin always featured a high standard of material quality as well as innovative construction techniques.
This suite is a wonderful example of Klein's design style. An extremely robust construction and leaf extension system with no sun fading evident between table ends and leaves. This suite is in excellent condition overall. Only very minimal signs of age-appropriate use to this exceptionally rare and authentic example of H. W. Klein's furniture design. Original maker's mark and date stamp distinguish this suite from reproductions of this high-profile designer's work.
